roots of kindness.

a single act of kindness throws out roots in all directions,
and the roots spring up and make new trees.

inspiration found among the trees.

my papaw moved to savannah about 13 years ago. my mamaw passed away and he found a new love and a new zipcode at the same time. although it is sad to have him farther than a 20 minute car ride away, it is nice to travel to beautiful savannah for visits.

this past weekend, we made a trip to support my sister's boyfriend {who participated in the rock n' roll 1/2 marathon} and to pay a visit to my papaw and sheila. savannah is such a beautiful place - you go from the historic downtown area's century old architecture and even older trees to the beautiful marshes and beaches of the towns just outside of the city. i couldn't keep my eyes off of the many trees we passed will walking downtown. my first impulse was to climb them all, but i settle for a few snapshots with my iphone.

once the race festivities were complete {and we sampled several beers from the local breweries} we headed to midway to visit our family. i continued to be inspired by the beauty of the land and was in the mood for fitness after watching more than 20,000 people run that morning. my sister and i decided to find our equanimity on the edge of the beautiful river.

i am completely obsessed with yoga and running these days - it doesn't surprise me that the beauty of the landscape and the determination of the runners put me in the mood to strike a few yogi poses.
